Indian Maritime University (IMU) will conduct common admission test (CET) for admission to its UG and PG programmes at its 36 affiliated Institutes. This year onwards Computer based or online exams will be conducted

The following programmes are offered by the Indian Maritime University:
Undergraduate programmes:
1) B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
2) B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)
3) B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair)
4) B.Sc (Maritime Science)
5) B.Sc (Nautical Science)
6) Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc (Nautical Science)
Postgraduate programmes:
1) MBA (Port and Shipping Management)
2) MBA (International Transportation and Logistics Management)
3) M.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)
4) M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering)
5) LLM (Maritime Laws)
Common Entrance Tests for Admissions
There will be a CET common to all UG programmes, one CET for two MBA programmes; another CET common to the 2 M.Tech programmes; and yet another CET for the LLM (Maritime Laws)
The Indian Maritime University was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas
Eligibility Criteria:
For UG Programmes:
Candidates should have passed or appearing the final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central/state Board or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
Candidates must possess good binocular vision must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by DGS guidelines
The age of the candidates should not be more than 25 years (for General) and 30 years (for SC/ST) as on 01st August 2021
For PG Programmes:
For M.Tech: Candidate must be a Graduate Engineer in Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Marine / Naval Architecture Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate
For LLM and MBA: Candidate must be a graduate with an aggregate of 50%
Candidates must possess good binocular vision must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by DGS guidelines

How to Apply
Candidates have to apply online www.imu.edu.in
Candidates have to visit the website and fill the online application form present on the CET 2021 hyperlink
A Passport size colour photograph of size 156cm × 156cm and the candidate’s scanned signature of size 200×60 have to be uploaded before submission
On applying candidates will get a Unique Application number
After filling the application form with personal details like cell ph no and email id for periodical intimidation, candidates can make payments online at State Bank Collect – A Multi-Modal Payment Portal
To make payments offline candidates can download and take a print of the challan and make payment at the nearest SBI bank
After making payments through any mode come back to the saved Online Registration web page of the Service Provider, enter the unique Reference number/Journal number and other details such as the mode of payment, date of payment, amount paid, etc to make confirm registration
Application Fee: Rs.1000 for General candidates and Rs.700 for SC/ST candidates
Paper Pattern:
For UG programmes question paper will comprise of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude questions at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ICSE and State Boards)
For the MBAs questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Financial Accounting, Economics, Maritime Affairs, Mathematics at UG level
For the M.Tech questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Mathematics and Engineering
For LLM (Maritime Laws) questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude and General Laws
The exam will be Computer-based or online and questions will be of multiple choice type
Candidates who are shortlisted based on CET scores will be called for Counselling at designated IMU Campuses and will involve verification of original mark sheets and certificates, physical fitness clearance, and allotment of seats in the IMU Campuses or Affiliated Institutes

Date and Centres of IMU’s Computer-based CETs 2021
The Computer-based CETs for IMU’s UG and PG programmes are scheduled to be held on 14th June 2021 Saturday, Afternoon between 02.00 pm and 05.00 pm in a single shift
They will be held simultaneously in the following 34 cities across in India: Agra, Guwahati, Patna, Ahmedabad, Hubli, Port Blair, Allahabad, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Jabalpur, Raipur, Bhopal, Jaipur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Shimla, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Siliguri, Chennai, Kota, Srinagar, Cochin, Lucknow, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Meerut, Visakhapatnam, Dehradun, Mumbai, Delhi and Nagpur
